SK Removals & Clearance was founded in Largs by Scott Kerr — a local tradesman who'd watched too many families get burned by no-shows, hidden disposal charges and unlicensed "man with a van" outfits during the most stressful weeks of their lives. Bereavement, divorce, downsizing, end-of-tenancy. The kind of clearance that doesn't forgive a botched job.
Over a decade later we handle probate clearances, end-of-tenancy resets across Irvine, Kilmarnock and Ayr, and hundreds of family clearances for people who simply needed the keys back in their hand by Friday.
We specialise in full and part-house clearances, end-of-tenancy resets, probate and estate work, commercial strip-outs and bulky single-item removals. Every job runs out of our Largs depot and covers every KA postcode from KA1 (Kilmarnock) through KA30 (Largs), plus PA18 along the Inverclyde coast.
The standard never changes: a written fixed-price quote once we've seen the job in person — and once it's in writing, the price won't change — SEPA-licensed disposal (carrier number WCR/R/1137430) with paperwork on request, as much as possible diverted from landfill or donated to local charities like Sense Scotland and the Ayrshire Hospice, and the property left tidy and locked.

Fixed written quotes

Licensed disposal, always
Every load leaves on our SEPA-registered waste carrier licence (WCR/R/1137430). SEPA waste transfer note available on request — what your solicitor and insurer ask for.
Recycled and re-homed
Re-usable items donated to local charities including Sense Scotland and the Ayrshire Hospice wherever possible. Anything we can't re-home is routed through compliant recycling streams. Landfill is the last resort.
Scott plus a uniformed crew
Scott manages and oversees every job, working with a uniformed team of up to four. He may not physically attend each one, but he's on the end of the phone and accountable for it. One number for booking, one team on site.
Fully insured
£5 million public liability, £10,000 goods-in-transit, and employer's liability cover for the crew. Insurance certificates provided in writing on request — important for estate agents, solicitors and commercial clients.
Resale-ready finish
Property left tidy, doors locked, keys returned. Where it's being resold or re-let we can arrange cleaners to come in.
